Is it possible to do a Chapter 7 bankruptcy with home equity in ohio?

I met with a lawyer today and he told me I couldn’t file Ch 7 because I had equity in my home, and couldn’t file a ch 13 because I couldn’t prove that I could make the monthly payments…………………. What!!!!!!!!!! Do I have any options?

      Bankruptcy is a federal law administered by the state.

      Go to the court house and tell the clerk of the court what you want and and he/she will help you. You do not have to have a
      lawyer.
